Passport and Visa
There are no visa requirements for EU passport holders to enter Germany. Non-EU citizens should contact their local embassies for specific requirements. Further information can be obtained from the German Ferderal Foreign Office. Participants requiring a visa are strongly advised to make their application well in advance and allow at least 8 weeks for the application to be processed if applying from abroad.
All foreign citizens entering Germany must be in possession of a valid passport. All citizens of non-EU countries, whether they require a visa or not, are subject to immigration control at the point of entry to Germany.
There will be a conference WLAN access.
The official conference language is English.
Health and Insurance
Participants are advised to arrange their own insurance for health, travel and property. It is recommended that citizens from EU countries bring with them a current EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). The Organising Committee will not accept any liability for personal injuries, loss or damage to property.
Ashtrays are located outdoor at the entrances. Inside the conference buildings as well as most public areas smoking is not permitted.
Currency and Money Exchange
The currency in Germany is the Euro. Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport, at banks, in post offices, hotels or foreign exchange offices. Banks are open Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm in general.
Electricity Supply in Germany is 230 volts - 50Hz AC, using two pin plugs of F-Type(Schuko) or C-Type(Euro-Stecker).
You check the current temperature directly from the meteological station Freiburg. At “Additional Informaiton” you have access to a couple of weather forecasts for Freiburg. In September the average day temperature is around 21°C.
The Freiburg Tourism Centre is located at the townhall on Rathausgasse approximately 400 metres from the Conference Centre.
